Good app It has a very large database and a simple quick add option. I use this app to gain weight and gained 20 pounds knowledge is power. It lost a star for taking away the full nutrient counter and another star for costing 10.99 to get back what used to be free. If i didn't lose privileges due to an "upgrade" i would rate it 5 stars. And if was only $1.99 to upgrade i would rate it 4 stars
Miss Flowers So great! It really helps with fine tuning my low carb high fat diet. My goal was to keep carbs at 20. But I was totally ignorant about the carb count in foods. Apparently, my daily average was 35 to 50 carbs for the last 9 months. The ability to scan the upc code on the food product to get the nutritional info on the specific food that I'm ingesting is so great. You won't be ignorant about carbs counting.Powerful helpful tool! Using the free version for weeks and I'm impressed for what you get for free.
Brilliant - sync with Garmin too! Love this app. Have been using it to track my eating habits whilst syncing with the app I use with the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ I got for Christmas. The My Fitness Pal app has been great in helping me keep track of not only calories but the balance of carbs, protein and fat to ensure I get a good balance. And I get extra calories for the exercise I log on my Garmin. Result! Was never really able to gauge that before. Highly recommended!
Great features; incompatible with Samsung watches Love some of the awesome features like UPC scanner, and being able to enter my own foods (Epicure specifically) and building recipes. Improvements I'd like to see would be smoother linkage between "my foods" and the recipe builder, UPC scanner with recipe builder, and DEFINITELY missing is the serving size of 1 serving in "my recipes"...you enter all your ingredients, how many servings it yields, but not the size of those servings. Problematic if I make a batch of something, divide into 1-2 cup portions.
Not all the food is accurate, and the 900 or 1200 calories restriction doesn't fit my lifestyle as an IFer n Christian. Daniel Fasting is beneficial, I'd like to track my food and predict the health effect of the fast on my bottom line...I end up exaggerating to get something. Overall, great app but takes up a lot of memory.
Totally Different User Experience I'm so impressed with the huge difference in the app from when I first used it 3 years ago. I love the blog features for food and exercises... personally I don't feel the need to pay for the premium (which is very pricey I think... $10 per month or $50 for the year) but I think that if you really want to spend the $$ you'll be happy. But I'm super happy with the free version for just keeping track of calories consumed.
