The High Street YMCA in downtown Lexington, a cornerstone of the community for over 60 years, is set to close after its sale to a student housing developer. Despite being scheduled for closure in late 2026 due to challenges with accessibility, aging infrastructure, and financial feasibility for renovations, the building still holds immense value to its members. With a 4.6-star rating and a vibrant, long-term community, it stands as a testament to what a local "third space" should be.

Very good place to exercise and meet other people. Also a very good place to get back in shape and their staff is very helpful in many ways. When I was younger I went there to learn to swim and other things as well. As I got older I worked as a summer camp counselor at their summer camp off of Versailles Road as a Archery Instructor and a summer camp Driver that picked up the children to go the summer camp there off of Versailles Road here in Lexington KY.

I find the app convenient and highly recommended. But, if you do not wish to get the app you could always take a picture of your card and save that to your phone. Either way...
