Bank notifications, straight into YNAB.

Does your bank refuse to connect to YNAB? Tired of exporting CSV files or typing every transaction by hand? NotifSync reads the payment alerts your banking apps already post and turns them into YNAB transactions — and nothing syncs without your say-so.

NotifSync is an independent companion app for YNAB (You Need A Budget). It never logs into your bank and never asks for your banking password. It simply reads the notifications you already receive.

HOW IT WORKS
1. A notification lands. When your banking app posts a payment alert, NotifSync sees the text.
2. You tag it once. Tap the amount, the payee and the date right in the notification. NotifSync saves that as a pattern and reuses it. No regex, no settings to wrangle.
3. You sync to YNAB. Parsed transactions wait in a review queue. Check them, fix anything, then push to YNAB with a tap.

WHY PEOPLE USE IT
• Visual pattern builder — tag amount, payee and date by tapping the text. If your bank changes its wording, add another pattern.
• On-device parsing — every notification is read and matched on your phone. The only thing that ever leaves your device is the transaction you choose to send to YNAB.
• No bank connection needed — if your bank posts a notification, you can sync it. There is no supported-bank list to be on. Any currency, no CSV exports. Run as many banks and cards as you like.
• One app, several accounts — send each pattern to its own YNAB account and plan, so a debit card and a credit card from the same banking app land in the right place.
• You approve every sync — nothing is posted to YNAB automatically. You review the queue and decide.
• Inflow & outflow — flag a pattern as income or spending so your balances land on the right side of the ledger.
• Native Android feel — built with Jetpack Compose and Material 3, with full light and dark themes.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
NotifSync has no servers of its own and sends nothing to third parties. Your notifications are parsed locally, on your phone. The one outbound connection the app makes is to YNAB's API — and only to post the transactions you approve.

PERMISSIONS
NotifSync needs notification access to read the payment alerts your banking apps post. This permission is used only to detect and parse those transaction notifications, for the app's core purpose, and for nothing else.
