About this app

Oddbit Remote turns your phone into a fast, reliable remote for your Android TV and Google TV box. Lost the remote, wore out the buttons, or just tired of digging through the couch cushions? Connect over your home Wi-Fi and control your box right from your phone.

Setup takes seconds. Oddbit Remote finds your device on your network, you enter the pairing code shown on your TV, and you are connected. Your pairing is saved, so you only enter the code once.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Navigate with a full directional pad and OK button
- Go Back, jump Home, and power the box on and off
- Change channels with dedicated channel up and down
- Launch streaming apps straight from the remote with four shortcut buttons
- Set those shortcuts to any app you want, including YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Prime Video, Hulu, and Max, or a custom link
- Assign a one-tap favorite button to the command you use most, like Guide, Info, Captions, or Menu

BUILT TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY
- Clean, full-screen dark layout that fits any phone
- No sign-in and no account required
- Works entirely over your local Wi-Fi, so nothing leaves your network

COMPATIBILITY
Oddbit Remote works with Android TV and Google TV devices, including the onn. streaming box, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, and Android TV or Google TV models from brands like Sony, TCL, Philips, and Hisense. Your phone and your box need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

It does not work with Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung (Tizen) TVs, or LG (webOS) TVs, since those use different systems.

Oddbit Remote is made by Oddbit Studios. Have a question, or a device you would like us to support? Reach out and let us know.

What’s new

- The app now tells you when the connection drops, instead of failing silently.
- New Settings menu with a How to use guide, plus Rate and Share.
- The status line now shows which device you're connected to.
- Disabled the volume and Live TV buttons, and tidied up the layout by removing unused buttons.
