Ratings and reviews

Good app for finding local pet sitters. However, I do think the cut they take from the sitter's payment is much too high - 19 percent! And, what's offered in return is a rather rudimentary designed app, and a Pawshake guarantee to cover veterinary expenses, but only up to a certain amount, should an accident occur. Which, I believe, is hardly ever needed. Not much incentive to keep using it, when close to 20% is taken out, after taxes not much left :/ Perhaps sitters that are booked more should receive a lower rate.

I gave a 5stars in the past but there have been updates that render this app pretty hard to use. The notifications are unreliable. You can clear your notifications a million times and it'll either still show 6 unread messages, or it won't show anything at all. The you get shut down for being inactive for >24h. The messages can't be sorted by unread. You can't close conversations so even when you have rejected a request they can still reply and you might still miss it.

I was pretty nervous about leaving my cat with a stranger, but Pawshake made the whole process so much easier. I loved being able to read about different sitters and see what other cat owners had to say. I've used the app to book a sitter and my cat was happy and relaxed when I got home. It was great getting updates with pictures – it really put my mind at ease. Pawshake was a 5/5 for me.
