The Resync of Dynamic Signaling Maps™ on Android
Poteca™ is an application inspired by a pivotal chapter in the history of bioinformatics. In the early 2000s, a web-based software called Dynamic Signaling Maps™ (DSM) was developed for the visualization and analysis of biological signaling pathways. DSM used 3D directed graphs to visualize complex biological signaling networks and was cited in scientific work alongside databases such as KEGG and BioCarta. Today, this legacy is reborn as a native Android app. The two main modules of DSM have been recreated in Poteca:
DSML Syntax Checker: Validates biological signaling pathway objects and events encoded in the DSML symbolic language, or SigMaps for short, covering five fundamental classes of signaling events.
SigMap Converter: Processes SigMaps using a custom multi-layered graphics engine, producing editable and resizable vector and bitmap graphs of biological signaling pathways.
All of Poteca's core features are free. The in-app purchase unlocks additional features, such as exporting, importing, and sharing custom AI assitant prompts, SigMaps, and high-resolution lossless vector graphics.
