Pros: Its a decent app that connects to various banks and financial accounts to pull your data into one place. It also gives a checking account with 2% APY. Okay, cool but no card or rewards so I won't use it. The widget for Recent Transactions is cool and useful. Cons: There is a notification "almost there" that won't go away unless i add a home and a loan, which I don't have. Not all banks and accounts are available and some always ask me for 2FA each time I log in, which is annoying.

I really want to like personal capital but... There is no way to make adjustments for accounts. e.g. when I had a 401k rollover it shows my net worth drop during the transfer and the car loan I have, the API for the loan is showing the payment due as the balance. There is no way for me to make adjustments. At this point, this tool isn't very helpful in understanding my net worth. A spreadsheet is more helpful.

Overall, especially for a free app, very good. Removed 2 stars because linking or syncing linked accounts is sometimes unreliable, and there are a couple of issues with how the app identifies assets and doesn't let you change them, at the cost of accurate net worth estimates or portfolio/planning insights. and the budgeting badly needs a way to batch edit or to train recognition of recurring transactions so you don't have to fix a miscategorization more than once. Returned star for good support
