While this is the sponsored app by Phillips for the hue light bulbs, there are lot of wrinkles to iron out. The actual app itself, inside the app that is, is quite good. The interface is easy to use and intuitive. The widgets and everything else however, are not. I get that there are many other apps in the App Store that apparently are more functional than this one for the light bulbs, but a 29 bucks a pop I would really help with the sponsored app is the best one you could buy for the product. Please continue to work on these issues to make it better. Especially the widgets. I should be able to click it and then I should go off, simple as that. Right now I click it, and the lights take about 10 to 15 seconds before they recognize that I hit the button, and then they go out. Not intuitive at all.
It's not intuitive. All lights need adding to a room before you can control them. Then to individually control them you need to open up the room. Also the timer is rubbish. I do t want to set up a routine, I don't go to bed at the exact same time each night. I just want to be able to tell the lights to turn off after 30 minutes (or such time). I see the old app with these benefits is still available. That tells a lot about the confidence in this app. It does look pretty though.
Has promise, but "location aware" setting cannot be saved. This feature has apparently been broken for 5 months for many users but has not been fixed yet. What's the point of smart lights if the main automation function doesn't work? That said, the connection to Sleep as Android alarm for wake up lights is really cool, and does work.
Most of it works great. Adding devices is simple. Works great with Alexa. I replaced 21 bulbs with the Philips hue bulbs. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because Philips has yet to resolve the location feature and its been over 5 months since I purchased the Philips hue system and Philips has been aware of this problem. Still I love the system.
Location aware doesn't work. You turn it on, it shows a map for where you are but there's no option to save the location. As soon as you navigate away it turns off. Waste of money on such expensive lights
The Hue app really limits what can be done with the lights. At least Phillips had the good sense to make them open to third party controls. Other apps offer more features and do the basics offered by this app better. Location settings are broken.

- We’re still investigating issues with the “Home & Away” routine and hope to fix this soon
