About this app

PicLock lets you require authentication before selected apps open on your device.

After setup, PicLock can show a lock screen when a protected app is opened. You choose which apps to protect and how you want to unlock them.

Main functions:

- App Lock: show a PicLock lock screen for apps you choose.
- Picture Password: unlock by aligning your selected token with your secret point on an image.
- PIN: use a 4 to 6 digit backup code.
- Fingerprint: use device fingerprint unlock when available and enabled.
- Built-in wallpapers: choose an included image during setup.
- Activity history: view recent unlock activity and failed attempts.
- App selection: search installed apps and choose which ones are protected.
- Trusted session: keep an app unlocked for the selected session duration before authentication is requested again.

Required system access:

- App Monitoring: detects when a protected app is opened.
- Screen Protection: allows PicLock to display its lock screen above a protected app.
- Notifications: helps PicLock keep protection active while running in the background.

## Accessibility Service

PicLock includes an optional Accessibility Service for Enhanced Protection.

Accessibility is not required to use PicLock. You can use the app without enabling this option.

When enabled, Accessibility is used only to detect when protected apps are opened. This helps PicLock display the lock screen more quickly on some devices.

PicLock does not use Accessibility to:

- read messages
- read passwords
- read typed text
- read photos or videos
- read screen content
- collect content from other apps
- control other apps
- change device settings

Before Android Accessibility Settings are opened, PicLock shows an in-app disclosure explaining this use. You must choose to enable Enhanced Protection yourself, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings.

## Data Handling

PicLock stores protection settings and activity records on your device. Accessibility is used only for the app-opening detection purpose described above.
