Edit: The game loads very well but I can no longer see the numbers in the corners of the cards, and the the amount of resources and honor I have gathered. It was very different that the tcg I am used to but it was easy to pick up and enjoy, the interface it's a joy to use and very much loved that I could play the game in a fast pace. This it's not a play to win, the IAP are not necessary and are very reasonably priced. Would give it five star if it weren't for the ridiculous amount of space it takes in my phone, why does it uses over a gigabyte?!! It's not like it haves 3d depictions of the fights or something graphics heavy.
It's definitely a good game, and I enjoy playing it. The only disappointment I have is that Ive recently been playing Star Realms which is another well made deck building game and when I play against the hardest AI in Star Realms I win about half the time. In Ascension i find that I win against AI 100% of the time. Which isn't very satisfying. If you could bump up the difficulty on AI I'd be much appreciated.
Ascension is a great game, well thought out, well made, well balanced, and the expansions each add a new experience to the game as a whole, but it lacks some customisability features for multiplayer. Currently, the only part of multiplayer I can change is what decks I am playing with. I am unable to change the size of the honor pool, or set it as a round-based game. Beyond this, there are multiple artworks for some cards, but there's no way for me to customize the art I see in a given game. I'm also a little surprised that I cannot make custom sets, by mixing and matching blocks. Being able to zoom in on a card before performing an interaction is super helpful. The artwork in this game is amazing, and reminds me a little of old Magic the Gathering art styles. Every game plays out differently, yet there's always a number of strategies I can employ in a given game. There's a great amount of card variety and card interactions, yet the system is very easy to follow and understand. All the features that do exist are amazing. However, I feel that some relatively basic features are lacking. For now, I give this game a 4/5.
After trying Dominion for the first time, I got hooked and started looking for more Deck Building games. I came across this one and I must say I am very happy with it. The tutorial is very well done and you have no trouble picking up the rules very quickly. Even in an offline 4 player game with the standard settings, the game plays very quickly.
Reasonably enjoyable game, but swings too much on luck, which can be dissatisfying. In games like Dominion, you have access to all cards all the time. Here is seems that the card I want most always reveals at the *end* of my turn, and my opponent gets it. So luck plays more of a role than I like in most games.
Love this game. This is an awesome port. The only major issue I have encountered so far: the AI can sometimes take a long time to do a turn (this happens when they have lots of cards/moves/buys). Otherwise this is epic.
- Fixed an issue where effects that referenced a card's cost weren't handling dual cost cards correctly.
- Fixed several audio issues on Android.
