In addition to backing up your personal data and content, it lets you access your protection plan benefits and provides live support though call or chat. You can manage your own device with self-service troubleshooting, helpful tips, and built-in protection features.

Secure backup is a core functionality within Device Protection+ which allows you to back up SMS and MMS messages and call logs on your phone. To properly handle messages received while the app is the default messaging app, read and receive SMS and MMS permissions are mandatory. Existing backups are required to restore text messages and call logs.

This app requires access to the following permissions:
● Read and receive SMS and MMS permissions to backup and restore text messages.
● Read and write call log permissions to backup and restore call logs.
● Permissions to read, modify, or delete the contents of your USB storage to backup and restore photos, media, and files.
● Location permission to access your Wi-Fi network details to detect insecure Wi-Fi settings.
● Accessibility permission (AccessibilityService API) in the Web Shield feature that protects you from threats on the web by alerting you when you visit a malicious web site. Personal or sensitive data is not collected or stored.
● Device Administrator permission for device lock functionality (only if needed for stolen device, and only with real-time customer consent).
