In addition to backing up your personal data and content, it lets you access your protection plan benefits and provides live support though call or chat. You can manage your own device with self-service troubleshooting, helpful tips, and built-in protection features.

Secure backup is a core functionality within Pocket Geek Mobile which allows you to back up SMS and MMS messages and call logs on your phone. To properly handle messages received while the app is the default messaging app, read and receive SMS and MMS permissions are mandatory. Existing backups are required to restore text messages and call logs.


This app requires access to the following permissions:
● Read and receive SMS and MMS permissions to backup and restore text messages.
● Read and write call log permissions to backup and restore call logs.
● Permissions to read, modify, or delete the contents of your USB storage to backup and restore photos, media, and files.
● Location permission to access your Wi-Fi network details to detect insecure Wi-Fi settings.
● Accessibility permission (AccessibilityService API) in the Web Shield feature that protects you from threats on the web by alerting you when you visit a malicious web site. Personal or sensitive data is not collected or stored.
● Device Administrator permission for device lock functionality (only if needed for stolen device, and only with real-time customer consent).

Ratings and reviews

This came installed with my phone. So far I'm impressed with it. I will update this after some more time as passed. I've come to depend on Pocket Geek to keep my phone up to date and it hasn't disappointed me. It checks everything. I love the diagnostics including the speed check for the wi-fi. An all around excellent app. I will use this on any new phone I get.

Most tools, coverage details, and support have been unavailable and missing. "If it's been over 72 hours, contact blahblahblah" It's been several months and many contact attempts, resulting in absolutely no change. Just the average runaround "support" responses from any company these days lol (ノ´Д｀)ノ i mish ma gotdang tools, paw

My experience was very poor, frustrating and time consuming without any service or benefit. A complete waste of time. This is not technology, more like bad service trying to appear as technically efficient and effective.
