Like others have said , this app could be great, but really needs to be improved! Set up was pretty easy and clear, but really lacking when it comes to videos and photos playlists, no options to edit and re-arrange video files in my desired order anytime, as other similiar services easily provide this basic (Drag and drop file sorting option), Idrive support claims you can drag n drop files into Sync folder, & access newly arranged files thru this app, but it does not maintain arranged order. The IDRIVE Sync folder service, does not sync properly, The IDRIVE Backup & APP is not user friendly at all in playing your videos & photos thru app, they did not bother to include an internal video or music player, so your only option is to use a 3rd party player, and frustratingly you have to download 1 video at a time just to play it. Idrive Support did respond, but had no real answers or solutions! Hope they fix and improve these very basic video file player & playlist issues very soon! If not, will have to look for a better back up & android app service!
Absolutely dreadful. Was recommended this by an EE advisor as my battery was (and still is) very poor and was told to try a factory reset. He assured me it was reliable. It took ages and I had to keep bringing my phone back to life as it kept stopping every time my phone timed out(something that you can't disable). When it had finally finished I checked the apps and none of them were there. I tried to restore them again and it kept saying already restored. But they weren't. Support responded to a raised ticket asking for my email address and I haven't heard from them since. I decided to just reinstall them manually which obviously took a while. Shortly after this I then realised my contacts were completely messed up. My husband had a female friend's photo and email address under his profile, names were missing, loads of duplicates and generally a complete mess. I may as well have just backed everything up manually as none of my settings were restored. Huge waste of my time.
My original review pointed out that this App was not compatible with IDrive's "legacy" accounts, which use an older technology, apparently. I had this for a number of years, and found myself left high and dry. Disappointing. For a number of reasons, I decided to move up to their 1tb Account, with their newer technology, and I am now able to use the IDrive Online App. My main need for the App is to backup photos taken on my Galaxy Note 3. This App does allow this, but there is a very big limitation here. There is no way to tell it to back up *just* the photos taken with the phone's camera, in the usual DCIM folder (internal or external storage). When I attempted this, it wanted to also backup the many thousands of images I keep on my SD card, which originated from my DSLR, and are already backed up elsewhere. I hate notified them of this, and they say they have passed the suggestion on. I'm doubtful, but will see what happens. Also, there's no way to select a folder for Photo backup manually - you have to select individual images. So at least for the purposes of backing up the phone's photos, it might or might not be suitable for others.
