I don't know if there is actually someone talking to you on the other end . it's fun though, you can practice your talking skill. just don't pay for a subscription. or expect to meet anyone in person. fun app to practice. I would definitely pay for a subscription if the price was more affordable rather than a rip-off for a bunch of bots.

Once the app is downloaded, and your profile is created, a lot of "users" will start talking to you. The characters aren't real and the pictures they use might be adult film stars. They are either bots or employees of the app baiting people to pay for a monthly subscription. If you call them out, the "users" will either act defensive, upset, and/or slightly confrontational. It's a joke. Don't waste your time.
