■ What is the Smart Washer App?
The Smart Washer App supports 'Smart Check' function that helps you to take action when an error occurs in your washer. It recognizes an error code in Samsung washer display and informs how to take action.

■ Supported Washer Models:
- Check the Smart Check mark in the control panel and the information about them in the user manual.
- The "Smart Check" may be represented as "Smart Care" depending on the language.

■ Please check these items before using the Smart Washer App!
- External light may cause the camera recognition function to be incorrect. Adjust the focus and angle properly for the auto camera recognition to operate correctly.
- Check the supported washer and smart phone models.
(Other models are not guaranteed that they will operate normally.)
- Depending on the font you have set in your mobile phone, Application's screen may look different.

The app requires permission to access contacts, phone, camera, and location. It does require the camera for linking to the washer and dryer, but there is no reason to need access to everything else. On top of that, if you deny it access to even one of these, it will close the app and not allow you to proceed any further until you allow it access to all it wants. I refused, so in the end I never did get to test if it will connect or how well it works and I won't. Uninstalled until resolved.

On top of the app needing access to my contacts it refuses to detect my smart washer or dryer without registering on a separate app all together and once I was able to register (which took a way to long. Don't tell me to just scan the barcode when there isn't one. Then make me manually enter the serial and model only to tell me it's incorrect when it's the same as it is on the actual washer.) Once I was able to register it never detected either device. Just had them both delivered today.

Useless app. Other than wanting access to your personal data (location, photos, phone and contacts) which is bad enough, when you allow this access (which is necessary to make the app 'work'), it fails to connect to the washing machine anyway and is completely unusable. The app looks awful, demands personal data, and then fails to work even in the most simple of ways. Samsung, seriously do better.
