Actually being able to take swipe, tap, or insert card payments is not possible! HORRID experience. Chipper card reader ($50+) worked great when practicing, then day of event wouldn't work! It only allowed for manual entry of credit cards, which makes the device useless & cost us time + money because people walked away! And it looks sketchy manually entering. ENTIRE day tried to troubleshoot never worked. Once back, contacted support spent and hour + and still won't work! Absolutely distraught.

I encourage you to call our Retail Support by going to the POS app > Support > Contact Support, as they specialize in hardware and can help with troubleshooting and replacing it if necessary. Our card readers have a 1 year warranty when under the Lite Plan and 2 years for the Pro plan.

Overpriced & unreliable Recently having issues with the app not loading & having to reinstall. The card reader regularly won't connect. Takes to long for updates to come through with new features Basic stuff that is included in most pos software is missing & requires additional paid apps. Collection is pro, can't create local delivery orders through the pos. No sell by weight option. Customer loyalty done through other apps. Feels like app developers are more important than actual users

Hello Alex Wightman, thank you for your feedback. Please ensure that you have a strong internet connection, otherwise the reader and the app won't be able to work and stay connected properly. If it is still not working reach out to our Retail Support, we are here 24/7. As for local delivery, I will pass up as a feature request to our developers.

I don't think shopify devs or product managers have ever used this app with their hardware for any prolonged period of time. I'd love to invite them to come work 12 hour weekend conventions using their ecosystem. Having used many phones and two generations of chip readers over multiple years -- this app is riddled with bugs. Whether it's constant freezing on a simple cash pay, failing to load checkout, falling asleep chip readers, or disconnection issues -- there are MAJOR unresolved problems.

Hello Aaron - thank you for your feedback. The POS app does require a constant internet connection to load, when we see freezing it is often due to connectivity, the same goes for the card reader having disconnection issues. I recommend reaching out to our Retail Support Team through help.shopify.com to troubleshoot with you further.
