First, I don't like the fact that the volume has to be so high in order for this app to work properly. I have to listen to something while I sleep, but the volume being at 30% is too loud for me to fall asleep properly. 2nd and less importantly, is the fact that battery optimization needs to be turned off at all. No. These two issues are the exact reason I'm uninstalling this app. If you find a way to make it work without such a loud problem then I might try it again but unil then, goodbye.

Hi Christina, Sleepwave's patented technology requires access to the device microphone and speakers to track your sleep and wake you up at a great moment. If you're hearing the frequency tone, please use “Sound check” in the Profile menu to find the right frequency for you. Please email support@sleepwave.com for any further assistance.

This was my favorite alarm app for quite a while. Free, effective, and easy to use. There was an upgraded version you could for a monthly fee that gave you access to different sound profiles and sleep tracking, but I didn't need that. However recently they implemented a pay wall. You can use the basic alarm function (the whole reason you downloaded the app) 3 times per week for free, but if you want to use it any more you have to pay either $5/mo or $30/yr. Youre better off buying an alarm clock

The app seems really neat and useful, and I'd love to utilize it, but when I click the "sleep" button to start tracking my sleep, a really high pitched frequency played that caused me a lot of distress/anxiety and made my ears ring after shutting it off. Not the most conducive thing for trying to sleep, and I worried that the other people in the house might be able to hear it too. Some of the sleep sounds and alarms sounded really nice though, even if I feel it could use more variety.

The audio technology we use to detect motion is completely silent for most people but the large variations in hardware on Android mean it might be audible on some phones. We will soon be releasing some tools to address this and in the mean time if you can hear a sound please reduce your device volume to 20 - 30% which can still work well.
