Ratings and reviews

Most customers don't respond to messages or phone calls. Leads are crazy expensive. Got charged $75 for a lead that should have been less than $30 because the customer chose the wrong category. Then the customer ghosted me. Same story over and over. If you are the cheapest person in town and can respond instantly, you may do well on this app. If that isn't you, run.

Being charged $21 for a "Direct lead" that also contacted 4 others pros, and then the "lead" doesn't respond at all, means thumbtack made $84 bucks off of that one client and all us pros are out. Not to mention leads that are over 100 miles away when I set my area to 45 miles. The entire lead system needs a revamp, it's charging way too much for way too little.

it's just an expensive app connecting clients and contractors but it does absolutely nothing to help the process. lots of leads you'll pay for will never get a response, sometimes the lead never responds to anyone and you'll get a refund on the lead. there is obviously no screening on thumbtacks end so if you don't mind weeding through a bunch of bad leads you will eventually get a couple good ones. not a very impressive service. would not recommend.
