Wonderful. I've been on thumbtack for about 4 years now. I've made 10's of thousands from thumbtack alone as a hardwood floor installer. Some reviews are stating. That you have to pay for all leads and you don't get the job. Not true. You only pay for the leads you bid on which are cherry picked by you. Then yes, you still have to win the job. A good profile and all the reviews you can get is the key. Thumbtack is the best. If you think thumbtack is expensive, try Angy's list or homeadviser. Talk about expensive. Outrageous. If the customer doesn't review your quote, you get your money back for it unlike other lead generators. You get to cherry pick your leads, unlike other lead generators. Homeadviser charges you for every lead. Stick with it, replies to all customers, have good templates, and get reviews. Your small business will grow.
Great app. They raised the prices lately so it's starting to get a little expensive. Much cheaper than their competitors though. However I love it, and use it everyday.
Great way to connect with new clients.
Great concept, but the customers are absolute cheapskates. Spent $30 to place some bids and have yet to get a return on my investment after submitting several very reasonable quotes for TV mounting and furniture assembly. Fundamental problem is people want to pay nothing for a service, and there will always be someone at the bottom of the barrel who does not value their time or skills enough to scoop up the crumbs.
