Well worth the price if you use a lot of the maps/layers. So nice to combine them, though some layers don't combine that well. Still, nothing as flexible available. HOWEVER, it's missing a few features from the iPhone version. It also needs an easier way to switch map dark/light modes. It's not automatic as in most map apps, and the setting is buried deep in the menus. (Btw this would be GREAT as an open-source app! (And still have a paid subscription to use proprietary map layers.)

Really isnt user friendly to find nearby trails. Seems like it's best for tracking, but dont we all have strava, garmin, apple watches for that?? There is no "trails nearby" map view; only a list view, and in list view you cant even sort by Closest, Difficulty, etc. Which is wholly the point of a trail app. Really disappointed. Plus the location accuracy is a bit off but that is reasonable I guess. (E.g. trail starts 400 feet from where it says it does.)

I have 3 apps that will track my hikes. I monitor distance, altitude, moving time. Gaia is the worst app of the 3. It used to work fine. But t's become unreliable. It takes up to 2 minutes for it to acquire the GPS signal. And it can lose the signal frequently and not get it back for up to 30 minutes. So a distance reading is totally wrong. The problem isn't the GPS signal. I've used all three apps at the same time, and the others never have issues. Same issue happens on two different phones.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the app. Please contact Support so we can help you further:

What's new

- Track color selection now a palette instead of wheel, including black and white options
- Badging on map layers more clearly indicate whether a layer is available or not

- Issue with misclicks on header and footer in route planner
- Fix some performance issues with the stats bar and route planner
- Fix issue causing sparsely segmented KML LineStrings to import as a single track
- Issues causing some offline routing tile downloads to be corrupt and crash the app
