On our app you can:  
• look for flights across our global network and book them easily 
• check in for your flight and get your boarding pass before you get to the airport 
• change seats, or flights, if something better becomes available 
• make sure you’re prepared for your trip with our Travel-Ready Center 
• add your bags, drop them at bag drop shortcut and track them along your journey 
• get real-time updates on boarding progression so you know when it's your turn to board 
• view flight updates, transfer time and gate info all in one place to feel prepared for your connection 
• see ongoing updates in your notifications tray and lock screen  
• use our built-in Terminal guide and airport maps to find your gate and navigate the airport with ease 
• watch movies, play games and pay for inflight snacks and drinks while you’re in the air 
• enroll in MileagePlus or manage your MileagePlus account and use your miles to book award travel in our app 
• use high-speed inflight Wi-Fi enabled by Starlink which is now available on select flights, free for MileagePlus members 
• talk, text or video chat with an agent if you have any questions 
• figure out your next move if your flight is delayed or canceled

Ratings and reviews

Just check how many times I had to login and change passwords and give access to physical location and enter phone codes and add credit cards (trying to add my united card) and scroll through different flights I'm not on just to "Check In" when the flight is still 6 hours away and you'll hopefully get idea why this is the worst app I used this year. nice job

Navigating through the app is more user friendly. However it still has problems linking code share flights - if a portion of your trip is with a partner airline, the app often doesn't show the full itinerary. My biggest issue (this applies to both the website and the app) is that there is no way to share an itinerary with someone. I can email a receipt, but I can't share an itinerary without the $. There needs to be a way to share just the itinerary details without the cost of the flights.

The United app is garbage. It asks permission to charge you for a bag if your personal item is too big or your bring additional bags without paying or whatever, but then when I click "accept and continue" or "add a card" nothing happens, making it impossible to check in from the app. Why even have an app if people have to go on the website anyway?
