About this app

With the new mobile application for your Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card, you can manage your money conveniently and securely from your mobile device. The mobile application is free to download for the cardholders whose card number starts with 533248. You need to register again with your card details prior to logging in the first time.

Please Note: If your card begins with 511563 DO NOT download this app. Please look for the yellow Direct Express® logo with a description stating that the app is for cards which start with the numbers 511563.

When you sign up to receive your federal benefits on the Direct Express® card, you will receive your payment every month without having to worry about cashing your check or having it lost or stolen. Instead of receiving a check, your money will be automatically deposited to your Direct Express® card account on payment day. You can use your card to make purchases at stores that accept Debit MasterCard®, withdraw cash from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), and get cash back when you make purchases. You can also use your debit card online to make payments and to also buy money orders at the U.S. Post Office.

There is something very strange going on with my account. I'm showing two "reversal debits" that list as being from Direct Express on 1/28/2026 and 1/27/2026 that resulted in money being taken from my account. Personally, I take"reversal debit" to mean that money should have been credited to my account not taken out of it. I was on with a supervisor for over 46 minutes trying to figure out how this could be and why they don't see the same charges as I do and got nowhere. It's all very fishy.

I appreciate this card. I do wish when they see the same payment from the same place the exact amount charges to send an alert to their customers. Also allow money to be returned to the card without fee. I have been being charged a lot for an app I haven't used in 1 year or more. several charges as I already closed the old the accounts and they added more charges in the app to get more money. Other than that I am safe and will be more aware of my monthly charges by checking. 😊🕯️🙌 Thank you.

Customer service is less than stellar. Direct Express will not provide you with the routing number or account number. So it's impossible to deposit money with direct deposit, cash, or to link the card to any other accounts. The Direct Express app is clunky and practically worthless. Worst part is that you can't use the Direct Express cards at pre pay gas pumps!!!
