The Steam Chat app includes many key features of the desktop Steam client chat, including:

Invite Links – Add new friends on Steam with a link. Generate an invite link you can text or email.
Customizable Notifications – Mobile notifications mean you'll never miss a message or game invite. You can customize your notifications per friend, group chat, and chat channel.
Group Chats - Get everyone on the same page. Groups make it easier to do things like stay in touch with your communities and organize game night with your best friends.

Ratings and reviews

Now it just doesn't work at all. Every conversation you click on results in a crash to the OS. 2 years later. The app half functions. if you minimize the app to use another you MUST close it first otherwise it won't load. Just constant black screen. it's an absolute headache. it'll never get better.

Need to support video files please. Seriously it is ridiculous this app doesn't support video files. No sound when video plays, video thumbnail is buggy looking. Have to put in full screen sideways to see whole video. You can only hear sound when on pc but not on this mobile app. I also cant zoom in on images after clicking on them. Dumb. Feel limited.

Getting notifs for DMs only is bliss. Having a "tray" that you can put your saved images in is a very novel and handy feature, but you can't upload the videos you put in the "tray" to upload them even tho you can upload videos on the desktop app. edit: I will be update this review with benefits & issues I find. mp4 files do not play sound, & separates the video & progress bar so the progress bar looks bigger than the video. You get pinged for GC messages you already saw on desktop.
