About this app

Every unknown call is the same gamble: answer and hand your time to a scammer, or ignore it and hope it wasn't your doctor's new number, a job callback, or your kid's school calling from a different line. How many of those have you already missed?

VoxGuard is a live call screening app that sits between unknown callers and your phone. It works alongside your dialer, not in place of it, and it replaces the whole category of robocall blockers, spam call filters, and caller ID apps with something stronger: every unknown caller has to prove there's a real person on the line before your phone makes a sound.

HOW VOXGUARD WORKS

When an unknown number calls, VoxGuard answers first, speaks your key phrase (a word or phrase you chose), and asks the caller to repeat it back. A recording can't listen and respond, so robocalls end right there. Callers who pass then record their name and reason for calling, and your phone lights up with the recording and a written transcript. Tap Listen, Approve, or Decline straight from the notification. Your saved contacts skip all of it and ring through like normal.

In our network data, 87% of unknown callers never make it past the screening challenge. The ones who do are the callers you actually wanted.

WHAT SPAM BLOCKERS CAN'T DO

Spam blockers match numbers against databases of known scammers, and scammers rotate to fresh numbers faster than any database can keep up. VoxGuard never needs to recognize the number, because the filter is the caller: a real person with a real reason passes in seconds, and everything else falls away, including calls from numbers no database has seen yet. Real callers don't get filtered out by mistake, and you hear who they are before you decide.

FEATURES

◆ Your key phrase, your personality — choose any word or phrase as the challenge. Three failed attempts and the call ends automatically.

◆ Decide from the notification — the caller's recorded reason and transcript in a heads-up alert. Listen, Approve, or Decline without opening the app.

◆ Smart voicemail — unanswered screened callers reach voicemail, with separate greetings for people you know and people you don't. Type a greeting and VoxGuard speaks it naturally, or record your own.

◆ Automatic contact sync — your contacts always ring through, unscreened, always current.

◆ One-tap pause — expecting a verification call or automated callback? Pause screening, then bring it back when you're done.

ON YOUR WRIST (WEAR OS)

Screened calls reach your watch too: a tile showing your latest pending caller, a watch face complication with your pending call and voicemail counts, and wrist notifications with Listen, Approve, and Decline built in. Hear the caller's reason through the watch speaker and decide without touching your phone.

GETTING STARTED

Setup takes minutes: VoxGuard walks you through permissions, call forwarding, and choosing your key phrase. Free for 7 days with full access, then $4.99/month. Cancel anytime through Google Play.

AVAILABILITY & CARRIER COMPATIBILITY

VoxGuard works in the USA and Canada (more countries to come) on any Android phone running Android 7.0 or newer. Screening relies on conditional call forwarding, which nearly every US and Canadian carrier includes. A few don't offer it, and VoxGuard can't screen calls there: Google Fi, TextNow, Boost Mobile, Lucky Mobile, and Telus prepaid. On any other carrier, the free trial walks you through setup, and if forwarding won't enable on your line, cancel at no charge.

Your phone number should work for you, not against you.
