The picture in picture mode does not stop my phone from going to sleep/timing out. If I have the app open, you have to select the "full screen" button as well, otherwise your phone will go to sleep/time out. It takes a very long time to reconnect after and sometimes to have to close the app completely and reopen it. These were not issues with the VTech baby pro app so I am disappointed this newer app seems to be functioning worse than the "old" version.

Would be nice if the app worked. the monitor/camera we bought work great, aside from some weird blurriness that happens during fast motion at night. the app on the other hand either takes 30-60 seconds to load on average, or it just flat out doesn't connect to the "offline camera" that is clearly working just fine per the monitor. edit: I have tried resetting and pairing the camera. The app has a setting for 1080p, switching it to 720p makes it faster. it keeps changing back to 1080p :(

We've had a vtech monitor since 2023 and never had issues with it until mid to end of 2025 where it randomly stopped connecting to both the app and the monitor itself. We thought it was just outdated since we had it for 2 years, bought a new one, had to downloaded the plus app instead of pro and it wont connect to the app half the time and when it connect to the monitor, its extremely laggy and sound wont come through half the time. update: found it cuts out every time it asks us to subscribe.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we're sorry to hear you've been having connection and lag issues with your new monitor. We'd recommend trying a factory reset on the camera, as this can often resolve connectivity and performance problems.
