The day is over, and you remember: it was packed. What exactly happened starts to blur after just a few hours. Aether captures short notes, voice memos, and locations as you experience them and compiles them into a readable history in the evening. No account, no server, no cloud.
DAILY HISTORY
• You write the notes and record the voice memos yourself. No speech model invents a sentence about your day.
• Location is only tracked while the app is open and can be disabled at any time in the settings. Aether never asks for persistent background location access.
• What wasn't recorded is called "unrecorded," not "quiet."
SEARCH BY EVERYTHING
• Full text, location, time period, and similarity in one query, with an explanation for each match: found verbatim, found via location, or similarly spelled.
• Runs entirely on the device, designed to handle over 100,000 events.
• The algorithm detects typos and word forms, but not meaning. "Doctor" doesn't find "physician."
REVIEW, NOT A HOROSCOPE
• One year ago today, the weekly and monthly reviews.
• Aether only displays a recurring pattern after four matches and only if a statistical analysis supports it: The probability of error must be below 5%. Without this threshold, an observation is a guess, not a diagnosis, and Aether will not display it as a pattern.
VOICE NOTES
• You start and stop recording yourself. There is no continuous audio recording and no event type for it.
YOUR DAY REMAINS YOURS
• Notes, voice notes, and locations are stored encrypted in a database on the device.
• No advertising or analytics components are part of the program.
• Encrypted backup can be enabled, but is disabled by default—it remains a file on the device; no server receives it.
• There is not a single point in the entire program that requires a connection.
NO LOCKED LEVEL
Aether has no locked level: Location, voice memo, search, history and encrypted backup are available from day one without a subscription, without advertising.
