You see an ad, the product looks good, and so does the price. But where
does the goods really come from?
Vortex reads the shop page and tells you, with an explanation, whether it exhibits the characteristics of
reselling from Far Eastern catalogs – and what comparable goods cost there.
HOW IT WORKS
• Insert shop link
• Receive a rating from 0 to 100, with color and explanation
• Tap on each characteristic and see the text passage that corresponds to it
• Compare the price on AliExpress
WHAT IS CHECKED
• Are the product images hosted on an AliExpress image server?
• Is an import tool embedded in the source code (DSers, AutoDS, CJdropshipping)?
• What is the stated delivery time?
• Is there a legal notice, right of withdrawal, VAT number, and a phone number?
• Countdown timer, "only 3 left in stock," permanent discount on everything?
• How old is the domain?
36 characteristics in total, each with its own weighting – disclosed, not secret.
NO THIRD-PARTY SERVER IN BETWEEN
Vortex loads the shop page itself and calculates the rating itself. No account,
no registration, no tracking; your history stays on your phone. For the
verification itself, only two things leave your device: for the
price comparison, the searched item name and price are sent to vortex.domenicmoran.de,
and for the domain age, the address is sent to rdap.org. No history, no identifier.
COMPARE PHOTOS
Take a photo of a product in the store or select an image from your media library and
compare it with the shop's images. Your photo is
evaluated on your device and never sent; for comparison, your device directly downloads the shop's product images, and their server sees your IP address in the process.
OPERATING COSTS
Vortex is free. There is no subscription and no in-app purchases.
WHAT VORTEX DOESN'T SAY
Vortex does not claim that a merchant is cheating. Drop shipping is permitted.
Vortex displays features and their weight – the decision is yours. A dedicated page
within the app lists where the assessment might be too high and where it might be too low.
