About this app

Dartile is a dart counter for your phone: a scorer that does the maths while you throw. For the club, the cellar and the league.

TEN GAME MODES, ALL WITHOUT A CONNECTION

X01 at any length, from 101 through 301 and 501 up to 1001. With sets and legs, single, double or master in and out, as many players as you like.
Cricket as standard or cut-throat, with or without points.
Plus Around the Clock, Shanghai, Halve It, Killer, Bob's 27, Catch 40 and two practice modes.

BUILT FOR THE ROOM YOU PLAY IN

The score is the largest thing on the screen and readable from two metres. Entry is twenty-five square tiles, big enough for a thumb while three darts sit in your other hand. Hence the name: dart and tile.
The interface is dark: in a club room or a cellar a bright screen ruins your view of the board.

EVERY PLAYER KEEPS THEIR NUMBERS

Whoever plays gets their own statistics: average, first nine darts, checkout rate, heat map and 180s — across every evening, without an account.

THE CHECKOUT IS ALREADY THERE

For every remaining score the way to the double is on screen: the checkout people actually throw, not the one that is shortest on paper. A mistyped dart is taken back with one tap.

THE CALLER SHOUTS, YOU WATCH THE BOARD

A real recorded voice calls every visit, the way a referee does on television: one hundred and eighty, no score, game shot. It ships inside the app and needs no network. Prefer names and remaining scores? Switch to the device voice. It is off by default.

THE CAMERA SCORES, YOU KEEP THROWING

Set it up once: put the phone on a tripod, tap four given points on the board. From then on the app scores while you throw.
What it recognises for sure it enters itself, calls out and shows in large type with "change" next to it. What stays unsure it does NOT enter: it asks, and a correction costs one tap. After the third dart it says "pull the darts"; once the board is clear it carries on.
The reason for that limit: a phone camera sees the board from one direction, and a dart close to the wire is not always clear from there. A counter that hides it writes its mistakes into your statistics.
Everything is worked out on the device. No image is stored or sent, and the camera can be switched off.

SHOW IT ON THE TELEVISION

One tap, one six-digit code, and the score appears in the television's browser. No app on the TV, no account, no cable.

PLAY AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE

Find an opponent: one tap, and Dartile pairs you with someone who is looking right now.
Or a six-digit code, read out by one of you and typed in by the other.
Tournaments for four or eight players: draw, semi-final, final. The next round appears as soon as the match before it is decided.
What travels between the phones are the individual darts with a running number, not the score: if the connection drops, the missing darts are fetched.
Signing in uses a six-digit code sent by e-mail. There is no password.

DARTILE PLUS

Plus unlocks playing other people, the tournaments and the weekly ranking: EUR 1.99 per month or EUR 14.99 per year. It renews unless you cancel in the Play Store, up to 24 hours before it ends. Terms: dartile.de/agb

EVERYTHING ON THE DEVICE IS FREE

Every game type, camera scoring, the full statistics and the practice modes. No ads, no tracking, no trial that runs out.

WHAT DARTILE DOES NOT DO

No account for anything that runs on the device: from the first launch you are one tap away from a game.
No permission the app does not need: the camera only for camera scoring.
Your matches and your statistics stay on the device: average, first nine darts, checkout rate, highest checkout, best leg and 180s are worked out there and go to nobody.

ACCESSIBLE

Every control is labelled the way it is spoken: triple 20, sixty. States are shown by shape and text as well as colour. Text size follows your system setting.

LANGUAGES

German, English, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Spanish and French.

What’s new

Version 1.2

The camera now scores by itself: what it recognises for sure it enters and calls out, with "change" next to it. Anything unsure it still asks about.
Find an opponent: one tap instead of reading out six characters.
Tournaments for four or eight players, with a draw and a bracket.
Every player sees their own statistics across every evening.
