About this app

AutoSugar brings your personal Nightscout data to your car's display.

Keep your focus on the road while staying informed about your personal metrics. AutoSugar connects directly to your hosted Nightscout instance to display your real-time data on your vehicle's head unit via Android Auto. Whether you are tracking your own statistics or following a family member's instance, AutoSugar makes your Nightscout dashboard glanceable, hands-free, and seamless while driving.

Key Features:

  • Android Auto Integration: View your current values, trend arrows, and delta (change) directly on your car's screen.

  • Multiple Sources: Easily switch between different Nightscout profiles—perfect for users managing or following multiple instances.

  • Glanceable Dashboard: A clean, high-contrast interface designed for quick updates without distracting you from driving.

  • Configurable Alerts: Receive notifications when your values leave your custom target range or when rapid changes are detected.

  • Background Updates: Continuous polling ensures your data stays fresh throughout your journey.

  • Personalized Setup: Set custom display names, select specific icons for each source, and choose your preferred data units.

  • Privacy First: AutoSugar acts strictly as a client. It communicates exclusively with the Nightscout URLs you provide. No data is ever sent to third parties.

Compatibility & Requirements:

AutoSugar requires a running, user-configured Nightscout web instance. It functions solely as a display client for your existing JSON API endpoints and does not connect directly to any hardware sensors or external devices.

Disclaimer: AutoSugar is an unofficial companion app for the open-source Nightscout project. It is a data visualization tool for general informational purposes only. It is not a health or medical app and does not provide medical advice.
