About this app

Every minute, something interesting is happening in the sky. FlyScout finds it.

A plane circles, waiting its turn to land. A landing is called off at the last moment. A tanker flies laps over the sea. A flight squawks 7700 and turns back to the airport it left. FlyScout watches flights all over the world and picks out the ones worth a second look, so you don't have to stare at flight maps for hours.

WHAT IT FINDS
• Emergencies: emergency codes (7700, 7600, 7500) and steep descents from cruise
• A change of plan: diversions, flights that return to where they took off, turns back in cruise
• At the airport: go-arounds, holding patterns, approach after approach without landing
• Unusual in themselves: jets cruising far below their usual height, jet-stream speeds, wide-bodies on short hops
• Military: tankers and surveillance aircraft on station, very high flyers, rarely seen types

FOUND BY RULES, NOT GUESSES
Every flight in the feed was picked by a fixed rule that measured its real track. It says what the track shows, never why. Each one is said in plain words first ("Go-around at Bristol", "United Kingdom · easyJet · Airbus A320neo"), with the callsign and registration after.

REPLAY ANYTHING
Every flight opens on a full-screen map framed on the moment that mattered: the whole track coloured by height, the event marked, and a playback you can scrub with altitude, speed and climb. A flight still in the air keeps updating.

HONEST DATA
Aircraft positions come from receiver networks run largely by volunteers, such as ADSB.lol (ODbL), and each flight credits its source. Aircraft photos come from Planespotters.net, credited to their photographers. FlyScout is for people who love aviation; it is not a navigation or safety service.
