About this app

This app records smartphone use, media exposure, and activity data for academic research. This app is being used by the Screenomics Lab at Stanford University and by academic affiliates for academic research. The app uses Media Projection API to capture screenshots and upload them to a server. Screenshots are captured upon screen unlock and at 5-second intervals. They are uploaded while connected to wifi, and deleted thereafter. The app also uses Accessibility API to collect user interaction gesture data (i.e., tap, swipe, and scroll events) in real-time as these gestures occur. The app also records daily physical activity data (i.e., step counts), using ACTIVITY RECOGNITION API, to learn user behavior while using smartphone.

Terrible, even though my husband and daughter were able to complete it none of us got the payments promised. The app always showed we were being tracked, but then I would get messages warning me I have not had the app on and active for some time. I would log in and it shows tracking. It was a waste if time. They got what they wanted but didn't hold up there end of the bargain.

Every time I download, delete, or update an app I get a message that screenomics has stopped unexpectedly and I have to restart it. Aside from that, it's fine.
