Android: VpnService and network filtering
Reload includes an optional adult content / site blocking feature. On Android, that feature uses Google Play’s VpnService to run a local, on-device filter on your phone. The VpnService is used so the app can apply blocking rules for that feature; it is not used to provide a general-purpose VPN, to send your browsing to our servers, or to access call audio. Data needed to enforce your blocking choices is processed on the device to support that feature.

Android: AccessibilityService
Reload uses the Android AccessibilityService API to know which app is in the foreground (for example, when the active app or window changes) so it can support app blocking you turn on — such as during Lock In, Focus sessions, and related content/keyword blocking. This access is used to help return you from blocked apps and support the blocking experience you configure. Reload does not use this access to read your screen, view passwords, or change your system settings except as needed for that blocking behaviour. You can disable Reload’s accessibility access anytime in Android Settings.
