Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, the two scored modules of the TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions), practised one question at a time with five options and the reasoning behind the key after every answer. Questions are sorted by the official question types and kinds, and the Writing Task gets its own planning drill.
Practice by module:
- Critical Thinking: pick one of the seven official types or mix them all: Identifying the Main Conclusion, Drawing a Conclusion, Identifying an Assumption, Assessing the Impact of Additional Evidence, Detecting Reasoning Errors, Matching Arguments and Applying Principles.
- Problem Solving: Relevant Selection, Finding Procedures and Identifying Similarity, with the tables, charts and figures each problem is read from.
- Writing Task planning: read three statements, choose one, and outline the three parts the paper asks for (explain it, argue against it, say how far you agree) against a planning clock you set. Your outline stays on the phone; the app does not mark essays.
- Mistakes: each wrong answer grouped by question type, shown with your choice, the key and the explanation, plus a button to practise more of that type.
- History: everything you have worked through, day by day.
Inside a question you check your choice and open the explanation: a step-by-step route, a quicker shortcut where one exists, and a note on why each wrong option fails. Mark a question for review, read the passage full screen, move through the question list, pause or hide the timer, or report a question that looks wrong. When you finish, a summary keeps the two modules apart and shows where your time went against the pace of a real module.
Ask Tutor, included with Premium, is an AI tutor for a hint before you check or a walk-through afterwards: where the conclusion sits, what the argument takes for granted, which numbers you actually need. It has its own daily question allowance. Before your first message the app asks for your consent, and nothing is sent to the AI model until you agree.
Home suggests today's plan across both modules and the Writing Task. Analytics shows questions answered, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving accuracy side by side, weekly activity and your study streak, counted on this device. The app gives no TARA score or estimate, only your practice accuracy. Save your test date to get reminders after a break from practice, in the evening before a streak ends, and a week and a day before the test.
Sign in with e-mail or Google. Without Premium there is a daily number of practice questions, each with its full explanation, and Writing Task planning stays open. TARA Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, that lifts the daily question cap and adds Ask Tutor. The charge goes to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Manage or cancel it in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, and use Restore purchases in Profile on a new device. Profile is also where you delete your account and its progress. Terms of Use: https://prepclass.io/terms
