About this app

DPF Guard connects to your OBD2 Bluetooth dongle (BLE or Classic) and reads diesel particulate filter (DPF/FAP) parameters directly from the engine ECU in real time.

**What it monitors**
- DPF soot mass (g) with a progress bar and warning thresholds
- Active regeneration status (ECU-commanded) with a pulsing red badge
- Passive regeneration auto-detection: when DPF temperature exceeds 600 °C and soot is falling, the app shows an amber "PASSIVE REGEN" badge — even when ET824 stays at 0
- DPF inlet temperature (°C)
- DPF differential pressure (mbar)
- Km since last successful regeneration and since filter replacement
- Failed regeneration attempt count
- Coolant temperature, battery voltage, vehicle speed, atmospheric pressure, EGR valve position

**Background notifications**
The app sends a notification if active regeneration starts while your phone is in your pocket, so you know not to switch off the engine at the wrong moment.

**PID Probe — advanced diagnostic tool**
Scan mode that polls all known DPF and engine parameters sequentially, logs responses to an exportable CSV file, and auto-detects passive regeneration onset. Useful for discovering new parameters on undocumented ECUs.

**Supported engine profiles**
- K9K 1.5 dCi (Renault / Dacia / Nissan) — stable, 16+ parameters
- DV6FD 1.6 BlueHDi (PSA / Ford) — beta, parameters under validation

Requires a compatible ELM327 OBD2 dongle (BLE or Bluetooth Classic).
Tested on Renault Clio IV, Dacia Duster, Citroën Berlingo III.
