Ratings and reviews

This app is my main way of communicating with my wife who is currently overseas. In the last months its performance is garbage. It frequently fails to deliver messages, or delivers them an hour after being sent. When calling, audio will just drop from one end or the other, and the app is too stupid to realize that it has essentially disconnected itself. It is slow to load images, and attempts to melt my device during video calls. Incredibly frustrating when it's not outright infuriating.

HORRIBLE quality of calls. I was conversing with someone in Japan (I'm in Canada). Poor call frame rate, video freezing, bad audio quality. Switched to Signal, and wow! Cinematic frame rate, crystal clear audio! LINE has dumb restrictions about being tied to a single device. It has poor management of storage. Bizarre UI. Amateurish bugs, like speaker phone abruptly coming on, while the button to disable it disappears. I suspect LINE QA only confirm the cheesy video effects and say "ship it".

Only reason why I'm putting my review up with 4 * is because I don't seem to have access to some features. Could be a location issue where my country simply doesn't allow it though, and that's fine. It does exactly what I need it for. Chat and calls. I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about recently... It could be user error, system errors, software errors, or it could be device incompatiblility. Who knows. But I have yet to have a major issue with LINE in over a decade.
