The news and functionality are good. But the ads are too frequent, appearing on every article on top of the pages. The "x" function reduces the size of the ad but they still obscure some of the reading area. UPDATE: I am uninstalling this app and just bookmarking the website. I still get push notifications although I turned off all push notifications. it's quite frustrating. I like APNews but the app is not good, in my opinion.

Regarding just the app: it NEEDS custom notification settings. If I'm being inundated with notifications and can't choose what I want to see, I'm disinclined to read any of it. I want to choose what I care about the most. Instead, I had to turn off ALL notifications. News is important, but only when you can actually read it.

used to work great. Over the last several months it's progressively gotten worse. It started just not opening the article from notification. now it won't even open the app and if I do get the app open I can't navigate, the front page is missing and the only thing I can get to is the sections menu. Oh and the font suddenly and randomly changes to 24pt and I can't change it back. I wish I could give zero stars as it doesn't even open from notifications anymore. update 6/17/25 changed nothing
