This is my first time using an app to track my diet. Sometimes I wish there was a search button within the custom/favs section. Also, when creating recipes, you can't search for ingredients, you already have to have them logged as far as I can figure out. Other than that I use it every day and have had little trouble!
I've come across a lot of foods that I found in their database that had completely incorrect nutrition information(usually lower than it's supposed to be). It's caught me off guard several times after using a food item from the database for over a week and finding out it has much more fat, carbs, or protein than the entry in the database says. Because of this, I can only use the database to save me the time of typing it in, then compare it to the actual manufacturer nutrition facts from google. Not the ideal situation with such a large database and I find it annoying that there is no quality control. Something like this can ruin a slightly careless person's diet. Now that I know this and compensate for it, the app works very well and I use it every day.
A huge thank you to Jason. After an update this weekend the app kept crashing. I emailed about the Android app crashing and immediately Jason fixed it. Other companies could learn a thing or two about customer service /support from Jason for sure.
This is a great app. I've tried them all. I like the layout better than mfp and it is easier to use. Just try finding food by the gram at mfp. It's a pain. MyMacros is for the serious tracker who actually weighs food.
Customization is much better than Myfitnesspal and offers much more features. However, my only complain is that it takes a while to get the hang of it. Other than that, it runs smoothly and I would recommend this app to others.
I bought this having seen many iOS users run through it on YouTube and loving the layout. I knew it wouldn't be as polished on Android but I'm quite disappointed by how frequently this app seems to crash. I do love the UI and versatility of the app overall, but it's constantly freezing and crashing on me. I could understand this if I was on a less common phone but I'm running it on a Galaxy S7. The biggest issue is when I back out of the app to quickly check a text or make a calculation - when I switch back over to finish adding a food or editing a number it will have completely frozen. Don't purchase this is you expect it to be the quality of the iOS version. That said I've had no issues with the database or scanning that others have had - I just find myself having to update many things, but I also did that with MFP so it's fine!
