I've been using Fossify messages for half a year now and it's probably the most decent app out there. I love that is has no ads. But I'm giving it 3 stars simply bc the UI is a bit awkward. E.G. when I create a new text, if I press the go back arrow on the app or my phone, it takes me back to my contacts (where you choose who you want to txt) instead of directly to home. I also can't swipe individual txts to delete. It's little things here and there. Otherwise it's a decent app.

I just realized that I'd like to be able to send voice notes on here. Some of my friends don't have data, so they can't use a different app like Whatsapp or Signal. Also, when I save a new contact from here, the name doesn't appear until I leave the chat, then come back. I also get sent and delivered things in the chat, but not read receipts. I don't know if that's because I missed a setting or the other person did.

It's a good app when sending individual messages, but when in a group chat, it takes forever to send messages and fails to update when someone sends a message, so I'd have to back out of the group chat and reopen it to see the message. I also have to scroll down when there's a new message rather than automatically scrolling down to fit the view.
