About this app

ScamShield: Your scam-fighting sidekick

ScamShield helps protect you from scams by blocking shady calls, filtering scammy SMSes, and letting you check suspicious messages before clicking anything regrettable.

Here’s what ScamShield can do:

📢 [New] Get notified when a number you reported gets flagged
If the authorities later mark a number you reported as possibly used by scammers, we’ll send you a push notification. You can also check your history of flagged numbers in the app.

🕵️‍♀️ Spot a scam before it gets you
Got a weird link, message, or phone number? Paste it in to see if it might be a scam. You can even upload screenshots - works for SMS, WhatsApp, and Telegram too.

🚫 Block and filter scam calls & SMSes
Follow our quick setup guide to block known scam numbers and filter out sketchy messages.

📝 Report suspicious calls, messages, and links
Help the community by reporting scams - with screenshots if you have them. The more we know, the better we can protect everyone.

⚠️ Heads up: Submitting a scam report in the app isn't the same as filing an official police report. If you've been scammed, please file an e-report with the Singapore Police Force.

Download ScamShield for yourself and your loved ones because a little protection goes a long way.

We may occasionally prompt you to refresh the ScamShield app, which helps with performance and security. The prompt to refresh will appear when you open the app, and does not require you to visit the Play Store to update to the latest version.

Waited for a very very long time for this app to be available. There is room for improvement. For example, it would be more effective if there's an option to "check" & submit SCAM number directly upon receiving a call & an option to forward the SCAM message. For now its just too manual & it's not encouraging for users to report it right away.

Hi Alex, scam messages notified by ScamShield have been automatically reported, hence there is no need to report a 2nd time. If you received a scam call or SMS that was not picked up by ScamShield, please report it through the app. By reporting, you help to keep the rest of the community safe from scams. Thank you.

Reporting should auto retrieve sender number and message from phone's SMS and let the user select which one to report. Without this feature, the adoption of reporting will be very low as it is just too inconvenient to do it. In my case I can't copy the sender number and have to remember it to enter manually to the app. Not only it is inconvenient it is also highly prone to mistakes. Big thumb down on not having it automated. I am referring to messages that was not being notified by the app.

Hi Hian Chua, thank you for your feedback. Messages and numbers that ScamShield has informed you about are automatically reported, so no further action is required on your end. We seek your help to report scam messages and calls that we didn't detect to improve our services. Thank you.

What is the use of faithfully copying down or pasting the # to report, but those #s were still able to reach my phones with the notification "Likely Scam"! I don't see any security features built to the app, not even one. The developers basically collected the data for whatever reasons? For data mining? For so-called data analysis??? Ultimately, dump the data away?
