SAR-MED is designed to support gold standard clinical practice by qualified Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) Casualty Care Certificate holders in the provision of patient care during call outs within mountain and cave rescue environments.
SAR-MED can also be used as a revision guide for aspirant trainee MREW Casualty Carers in preparation for Casualty Care Certificate examination.
The medicines formulary and protocols published within SAR-MED are strictly governed by the MREW Medical Subcommittee under the leadership of the Medical Director for MREW.
To use SAR-MED, you must be a member of a UK national rescue team that is recognised by MREW.
