全球化就是指貨物、技術、資金、人才跨國境移動無障礙，從2000年後拜科技和區域整合之賜， 全球化腳步快速。經貿保護主義讓全球經濟陷於不確定性，帶來經濟成長遲緩、貿易衰退等後遺症；從全球經濟成長率看，1992 - 1999年， 經濟成長率為3.1％、出口成長率為6.3％；2000 - 2007年是4.5％、12.4％；2008 - 2015年是3.3％、3.2％；2016 - 2019年是3.5％、3.6％。
其中全球經濟表現最傑出的時候是2000 - 2007年，也正好是全球化速度及中國大陸經濟發展最快之際，2008 - 2019年，全球經濟像懸岸一樣下降， 經濟欲振乏力。
