Grimalkin Academy: Stakes Series . . . It can’t be comfortable being a former vampire hunter in an academy full of vampires, but Lily will find out now that she is attending Grimalkin Academy. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of the wonderful books you will find in this set. Titles included are: 1. No Stakes Allowed 2. Stakes Are Raised 3. Highest Of Stakes *** Reviewing “NO STAKES ALLOWED (#1) *** With the Guild destroyed, Lily doesn’t want to be a vampire hunter, even though she had been forced into it since childhood, so she now is able to make a choice of what she would like to do. She chooses to attend school, with Grimalkin Academy being the only option. She is the only human among the vampires there, which is not a good situation since many will want revenge. She has to have a bodyguard. Bryce is assigned, but definitely doesn’t like her. Yet as they get to know each other better, they have more in common than they would have imagined. But can he protect her from her enemies when someone wants her dead? And when she begins to have visions about her fate through betrayal by someone who may have befriended her, what are her next steps? This is a good book that draws the reader in with great characters and a fast-paced story line. Grab your copy and see whether Lily can escape her past and find a more enticing future. With the entire STAKES series here, take your time and enjoy at your own pace (although you may find it difficult to stop once you get to the first page)!

No Stakes Allowed (Book 1 in the Grimalkin Academy) I really like Lily, she is fierce, capable and frighteningly deadly. She is also a victim and carries much sorrow and guilt. All lending to her being so likeable. Then there is Bryce, st first I was not a fan. Then he showed his "human-side" and I decided he was equally as likeable, fragile and fierce. Great book, plenty of action, adventure and romance ... something for everyone. Stakes are Raised (Book 2 in the Grimalkin Academy) Well ... Lily is still a force to recon with and Bryce is still a powerful character though you never really find out how powerful and skilled. Though in the book you do find out he is fairly skilled at melee combat. Lily and Bryce are crazy about each other and have some surprising opportunities ahead of them. Lily still has visions even as a Vamp, she us most bummed about this. But knows once she has the vision it will happen. Now she is focused on keeping the ultimate Enemy fir accomplishing their goal

Pretty good series that provides plenty of action, danger and suspense with a touch of romance. I like the characters and storyline. With the guild now gone Lily, an ex-vampire hunter, doesn’t know what to do with herself so she heads to the Grimalkin Academy. Unfortunately, she will be attending classes with the very beings she has hunted most of her life and if they do not get her a fellow hunter will. The author has done a phenomenal job connecting this series letting us read about old characters and the paths their lives have taken. This was an interesting read and I look forward to reading more from this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
