Great short story. Kick *ss female main who has worked her way up to her dream position. And talk about a sweetheart of male main, so patient. Great chemistry, great setting. Love the group of other council members, really dig, Richard, the vampire. Drummond gives you someone to root against, I'd like to know what his problem is with Aella. HEA, lots of burning chemistry between Aella and Barker.

It is a taboo to have a mated couple on the council together. Aella meets Barker when she joins the High Council. They know they are mates but can do nothing about it or one of them will lose their job. This is a very short story about how they get around the archaic law and are allowed to mate. This was an enjoyable read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another wonderful paranormal council universe story. Aella and Barker try to ignore their mating instincts because of being on the high council, but will it force them to give up on their dreams to be together. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
