Acerca del autor

Harriet was a white American born in the year 1811. While living in Cincinnati during her young adulthood, she did all she could to put an end to slavery. Her stories of Uncle Tom were first published in an anti-slavery paper, The National Era. Later, these stories were published in book form. This book, Uncle TomÕs Cabin, was well received in the North. It was this story that had much to do with events leading up to the Civil War. It is also believed that this book was one of the reasons Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery.
