The official Google Photos app is made for the way you take photos today and includes essential features like shared albums, automatic creations and an advanced editing suite. Additionally every Google Account comes with 15 GB of storage and you can choose to automatically back up all your photos and videos in High quality or Original quality. You can then access them from any connected device and on photos.google.com.

With the official app, you get:

I fear i may have lost a big amount of my photos somehow. I deleted photos on my device after they were backed up on this app but didn't delete all of them, thankfully, and have noticed a bunch of the photos on my device are not saved on the app. I have also been searching for specific photos that are no longer on my device and can't find them at all on the app. This was a big fear of mine, to lose precious memories, and I thought this was going to be the safest way to ensure never losing them.

Not exactly sure who created this... I admitted that I use multiple accounts to back up my photos. But this program does not know photos that I already uploaded so it keeps uploading the same photos again and again which is not really smart thing to do... Maybe I am asking too smart task for a free stuff. And I agree this is not really user friendly app.. Not much control. Maybe, Google made this way to access all my information and take it. Maybe, I don't know how to use this...

I'm not the biggest fan of folders being on a second page, separated from the first page which only shows camera roll photos. And for some reason, I can't delete photos anymore? It just pulls up an infinitely-looping circle of doom and does nothing. Strange stuff. Otherwise, the app has amazing features that I really enjoy. I love that I can order photos through the app. While I haven't used it yet, I certainly plan to! Altogether, I really just use the app became it came pre-installed.

What's new

We are introducing a new storage management tool to help you easily manage the photos that count toward your storage quota. This tool will surface photos or videos you might want to delete — like blurry photos, screenshots and large videos.
