1st year was fine. Issues started a year ago, but I thought cos I have an old phone. Now new phone and tablet, but even after 45 min on the phone to Square, the app just comes up error, the website does too when I enter the verification code and the hardware won't pair. oh- and I can't order the replacement hardware as the one time I got into my account and the £0 payment was approved by my bank, Square came up error again. I have spent hours today trying to sort it out to no avail. Awful.

We understand how frustrating it must be to run into repeated errors with the app, website, and hardware, and then not even be able to complete an order for replacement equipment. The system is fairly reliable- occasionally a glitch when you checkout a payment and then it looks like it has failed but on checking the transactions, it has actually worked!. I understand there are higher fees as no monthly terminal fee (but then you have already paid for the hardware) but I do think the %fees are very steep, particularly for a small business. For larger transactions I have to ask my customers for a bank transfer as otherwise the fee can make a huge dent in real profit.

loved this until your update which means my new phone is no longer able to connect to my reader! I spent 45 minutes on the phone to square help only to discover I have to use another device that I cannot afford to buy - really bad.... it was a great little app that covers all my payment needs as a small business, no fuss and simple to use with money in my account within 20 minutes, something other systems doesn't offer. NOT NOW
