Irrespective of the content, and there are some good writers on substack (if you want to subscribe to them), the app is extremely bug-gy. Windows Web access works slightly better, but the Android app is one frustration after another. Post an article with a serious mistake, you can't edit it on the app, only on the desktop. It's also very slow. It doesn't show up in the view of open apps, 'close all' doesn't close it, what you are typing can be lost if you switch apps...

Substack push the app hard but the app makes it hard to see your subscriptions without pushing lots of dross. At least improve your recommendation algorithm if you are going to do that, I'm drowning in 💩. If I do mark something as 'show less of this' I lose my place and have to scroll all the way back past the same posts again. It's sometimes a bit slow too. I use it only because a few writers I like are on the platform.

This app is absolutely horrendous. I don't want to be bombarded with either push notifications or emails. None of them. I just want to be able to check in on accounts I follow at a time of my choosing and find them there iny account to read. You provide no way on doing this, and I am plagued by continual push notifications and a clogged email inbox. What a stupidly designed platform. I am deleting my account, uninstalling the app and telling the accounts I had subscribed to why. Substack sucks.
