The app has gotten better since my last 1 star review in 2020. Sometimes it gets stuck after I put a destination. Move the search icon closer to the driver. Make the "home", "work", "saved addresses " taller. They should be bigger than what I am not struggling while driving to press on them. I constantly press the wrong one because they are so hard to precisely press.

Trying to use Waze with Android auto in BMW iDrive 8.5 and directions no longer show up in the HUD like in iD7. Sounds like this has been a long time problem. Can of be fixed? Also new text notification and response system is horrible. You can't really see what you are writing like you could in the old version and notifications no longer pop up like they used to

Still better than GoogleMaps, but not as good as before they bought it. The only real "improvement" is purely aesthetic — i.e. all the new "Themes" (voices, moods, & vehicle models). Except most of them are so goofy I doubt anyone even uses them. Other than that, the navigation AI has dropped in quality. The route selections you get aren't as efficient or varied as they used to be; you get MAYBE 3 near-identical options that make zero effort to avoid traffic, if you're lucky. Could be worse tho.
