About this app

Create a more organized and personalized smart home with Google Home. Set up, manage, and control your Google Nest, Wifi, and Chromecast devices, plus thousands of compatible smart home products like lights, cameras, thermostats, and more – all from the Google Home app.

Personalize your home view.
Pin your most-used devices, automations, and actions to the Favorites tab for easy access right when you open the app. View your Nest cameras and doorbell live feeds, and easily scan through event history. Set up and manage Routines in the Automations tab. And quickly edit any permissions in the consolidated Settings tab.

Understand what’s going on at home with a glance.
The Google Home app is designed to show you the status of your home and keep you up to date with what you may have missed. Check in on your home anytime and see a recap of recent events.

Control your home from anywhere.
Google Home for Wear OS allows you to control compatible smart home devices from your watch. Turn on the lights, adjust the thermostat, or get an alert when there’s a person or package at your front door. Use the favorites tile or add a device to your watch face to make managing your home as easy as a tap on the wrist.

A helpful home is a private home.
Protecting your privacy starts with one of the world’s most advanced security infrastructures, which we build directly into Google products so they’re secure by default. And Google uses your compatible devices and data to make your home helpful, but only in the ways you allow. Visit the Google Nest Safety Center at safety.google/nest to learn more about how we protect your information and respect your privacy.

Has become a nightmare. This used to control a plug and my TV, but it quit working with the matter plug and randomly turns off my TV whenever it wants regardless of what I say. I was hoping to move away from Amazon to Google, but I definitely don't see that happening at all. After 2 hours and a lot of physical stress, I still can't get things to work. Glad I didn't waste more money on devices!

My device is 15-20 feet from the router, and multiple technician visits have failed to resolve anything. Do not call their help line or they will reset your internet without asking. Chat instead. EDIT: since Google's reply, their service has actually gotten WORSE. We cannot even set timers. Almost impossible to control and manage smart speakers from this app, and God help you if you're trying to set an alarm in the other room. The single reliable use I have found for it is adjusting volume.

We're sorry you had to go through that, Chap. Make sure your devices are within 15 to 20 ft of your router. Also, try performing a factory reset on your devices to refresh them. For more help, reach out via phone, chat or social channels here: https://goo.gle/3ie15Ae

Google Home: Redesigned, but still needs work. Pros: * New interface is cleaner and more user-friendly. * Better organization of devices and rooms. * Improved automation features. Cons: * Some features are still buggy and unreliable. * Voice commands can be inaccurate and frustrating. * Integration with third-party devices could be smoother. Overall: Google Home is a step in the right direction, but it still has a ways to go before it can be considered a truly great smart home app.
