About this app

With DB Call a Bike, you can get around spontaneously and flexibly, 24 hours a day. You can rent a bicycle at any time and anywhere in Germany at affordable rates.
Our bikes are often located near train stations, for example in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Cologne, and Munich. With just one app, you can use Call a Bike, as well as StadtRAD Hamburg and Lüneburg, and RegioRadStuttgart. Rent up to four bikes at once with a single account.
Find your bike on the interactive map, rent it via QR code, and pause your ride or end it at a Call a Bike station.
The app lets you see all available bikes and stations at any time, and always keeps your bookings and costs clearly visible.

Ratings and reviews

Read the terms. They change often. I cancelled, travelled, came back signed up for what I thought was the same the same pay as you use it but was stuck paying 6 months. So it's either dark UI or bad UI, and no flexibility to change it until after the contract is up. They dismiss your experience and say changing it is impossible, like their database records are locked for 6 months. it's only 24euro. I offered to pay the price and cancel but they couldn't do that. Makes sense, it's run by DB...

The bikes are great, but customer service is absolutely terrible. The app failed to charge me appropriately and I received no notifications in English despite having English as my preferred language on my account. In addition, they provide no way to actually pay the outstanding invoice. It's good to see at least one service in Germany bucks the stereotype of efficiency.

The service itself is good, but when I needed it the most and had to book a bike time-critically the app decided to log me out and I had to redo the whole login process, including verifying my bank connection (which did not work). Weren't it for my friend I would have missed the train I tried to catch after the bike ride. Just why? Edit: Missed a train again because the app felt like it had no internet. Great.
