Square Point of Sale is the customisable point-of-sale app that enables you to sell anywhere and in any way your customers want to buy.

Use the Point of Sale app with a Square Reader to allow customers to pay with contactless from all major credit and debit cards or touch-free using payment links, QR codes, Apple Pay, Google Pay or by manually entering their card details.

Issue and track invoices directly from the app. Customise your invoices, set up weekly or monthly recurring invoices from your Dashboard and let customers pay online with a credit or debit card. You can even save their card details on file for automatic payments on recurring invoices.

Connect your Point of Sale app to a free Square Online Store to accept orders for pickup and delivery.

Funds are transferred fast – see money in your bank account as soon as the next business day.

The free Square Dashboard app works in sync with the Square Point of Sale app and lets you view your live sales data, access powerful analytics and other easy tools to help you track and improve your business.

1.6% PER TAP OR INSERT on Square Terminal and Square Register or 1.9% with Square Reader. That’s it. Just one flat rate for all transactions so you know exactly what you’ll get in your bank account. Accept Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and American Express cards all at the same rate. Invoices are free to send and cost 2.2% per invoice paid online.

Ratings and reviews

Square has been reliable in low wifi areas. I like the flat rate for all credit cards. I don't like that they have different fees for how the card is used. I would like to see the software to be more customizable and straightforward. Overall, Square POS has been the most affordable, and reliable pos system for my needs as a food truck owner.

Worst experience is I literally didn't even get to use it the day I needed it. I took time to make each items and prices and when I was logging in for the event day, it keeps saying it needs location acces.. I looked for solutions and them saying you fix it in the settings. I CAN EVEN GET INTO MY DASHBOARD because all that's written is YOU GAVE NOTHING TO MANAGE. This was a WHOLE COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. I'd rate it negative 1 but that's not an option.

Perfect for my small sells. Cost less than a monthly card reader. Does not charge unless you have a sale and it's only a small set fee per transaction. Honestly, it is way better to have a square than not have it. Safer as well, so no one is stealing your cash. Also, you can transfer to the attached savings account to grow interest. You can use the funds anytime without penalties, which is a major added bonus.
